The Children of Cherokee Tom - Robert

IV. Robert Mantooth (1790/1800-
There is a Robert Monteath who served in the War of 1812 and a Robert Manteith in Rhea County with
Samuel in 1830 age 30-40 with a wife and 4 sons under 20 and six daughters under 15. Since there are 4
Robert Mantooths born from 1822-1826, surely they were named for an older Robert Mantooth. There are
several unidentified sons in the third generation in Cocke County, perhaps they are his. Nothing else has
ever been found on this family. Could he be the Robert Montiteh who went to Texas in 1838 and died the
same year?
